| Following the update sent on Monday, we have developed a new look which we believe is lighter and more modern but which does not change the layout or operation of the site in any way. This has now been applied to http://www.sites4doctors.co.uk, and we are asking you to take a look and let us know whether you would like your practice site to look more like this. There is one invisible update to ensure that the site pages - and particularly the buttons on the left - look the same in alternative browsers such as Mozilla FireFox and Apple Safari as they do in Microsoft Internet Explorer. This will be applied at all sites in the next few days. The ’Today’s date’ feature, which was quite difficult to do in 2004 but not really very useful, has been replaced by a ’Page updated’ date, which alerts users if a page they visit has been changed recently. This, too, will be applied to all sites soon. There are also two new buttons: ’Latest updates’ and ’Pages A-Z’. These give users two different ways to find information on your site, showing pages of links listed newest-first by their dates of creation or update and in alphabetical order by title. Both these will be added to all sites, but you will be able to switch them on or off as you choose via the Site Management System. We hope you will find time to check out the new-look Sites4Doctors and give us your feedback. We will not be changing the look of your sites without prior consultation. |
