| I have found a way of counting site visits rather than individual page hits. The page hits are still stored in the database so that you can see the summary from the Site Management System, but the counter displayed on your pages only increments once for each user's visit, no matter how many pages are accessed. It even keeps a visit intact if the user follows a link to an external site and then comes back. One or two of you have commented that this would be better, so could you please let me know if you want me to switch your site to the new system. This will mean clearing out all the old hits, but as they are of questionable value this shouldn't matter. |
