Subject: Now you can control the order of links on automatic home-pages
Sent to editors and administrators on 14-08-2007
For those of you who publish folders of documents, the ‘automatic home-page’ facility has given you a quick and easy automatic way of providing links to your documents.

Just to remind you, if you don’t create a home-page of your own for any folder, the system will generate one automatically when the site user accesses the folder. This will have links to all documents and web pages in that folder, as well as any introductory text you have added.

As of today, you can now choose whether to have the links sorted in ascending date order (oldest additions first), descending date order (newest additions first) or in alphabetical order of page titles (not to be confused with document filenames – don’t forget that you can edit the title of a document to be anything you like). Each folder has its own setting, so you can have different sort-orders for different groups of documents and pages.

The Edit folder form now had a new drop-down menu at the bottom which allows you to select any of these options.

This new feature applies to both public websites and intranets.
